Stuart Lazier has more than 30 years of experience as a leader in the real estate investment and management business. He is an operating partner and co-founder of Fiera Properties.
Stuart was the Managing Partner of Canada's leading independent real estate management services company, Enterprise Property Group for 14 years. He merged this company with O&Y Enterprise managing over 110 million sq. ft. and over $20b AUM. In 2001 he resigned seeking to apply his vast experience to the investment side of the business.
In 2001, Stuart co-founded KingSett Capital, now one of Canada's leading real estate fund managers. In addition to assisting with Kingsett's strategic leadership, Stuart was responsible for the company's operations, leasing, and portfolio value optimization. He was also a member of Investment and Advisory Boards overseeing three growth funds with 60 investments of $3 billion AUM managed on behalf of institutional investors.
Stuart retired from his day to day responsibilities with Kingsett in 2009, but remained on the Advisory Boards of the firm. After a period of reflection, Mr. Lazier decided through his personal company, Axia Investments Inc. to seek out new investment opportunities. In 2011, Stuart worked with Fiera Capital to investigate the opportunity to launch a new real estate investment platform that would combine the capital market strengths of Fiera with the talents of real estate investment specialists to bring investors new, innovative investment products. Fiera Properties was launched December 1st, 2011.
Stuart has served his community as: a board member and Chair of Covenant House Toronto; the Chair of the Real Estate Committee for the Toronto United Way; and as the Vice Chair of the Board of Governors at Upper Canada College. He is currently a Board Member, as well as the Chair of the Investment Committee at Build Toronto which is the City of Toronto's primary vehicle for maximizing the value of surplus city owned properties.
Stuart holds an MBA from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.
